And a T-Rex showed up. Not sure how you dyno that... Pretty cool looking though. Wishing I was still living in Houston right about now.

So is that the thing to do on Saturdays? Everybody takes their car to the dyno and people mill around watching?

it's the grand opening of his new shop, so doing a dyno day is a great way to get the word out.

Was this a paid event? Because FYI, your brother is pissing off some people with Mustang's by not dynoing their cars correctly (allegedly). Someone in a Mustang group I'm in posted a video of whoever was running the dyno doing a really short pull, so the power numbers on the car came up 60 HP short. And according to him it wasn't just Mustang's either. I watched the video, the the guy was maybe on the throttle for 3-4 seconds. I would share the video but not sure how.

idk what to tell you there, I just thought it was funny seeing a T-Rex at a dyno day... I did read how there was an upset Mustang owner, but then again there were 50+ happy people of the 60 cars that were dyno'd. I'm assuming this guy had his car dyno'd before and knows what kind of numbers he should be getting. Also, if my brother went through 4th gear why is he complaining? Most cars are dyno'd through 4th. Idk, that whole post kind of confuses me. I've put well over $2k in mods in my car and am coming up short of my goals, but I didn't bitch about it because my brother didn't dyno it properly, I bitch about it because I drive a Ford, lol.

Yea I'm not blaming anyone, just thought I would bring it to your attention. The video he took of his dyno run definitely sounded like he only got half way through the rev range in 5th, and on some 6 speeds the 1:1 gear is 5th. I think that is true of Coyote Mustangs. If your brother really wants to know the guys name I can give it. Let's see if this video works here. Edit: After some googling the Coyote's are dynoed in 5th.

Cool. The scene is already so full of misunderstandings and stuff when it comes to shopts that its best to get it worked out for everyone. Let me know what happens in case the guy never posts an update.

The performance industry is pretty cutthroat. Instead of talking to someone from the shop about this issue they would rather call them out on the Internet. I don't miss car forums because of this. My brother posted something on his FB asking if anyone knows him and offered him to come back and make a free run. Apparently some limiter kicked in during a run.

Not sure why the guy didn't mention anything to y'all. You should be able to find him on Facebook, if not you can respond on the group he posted to: BULLETPROOF.

my brother could answer this, but wouldn't a car not roll at all on the dyno if traction was left on?

Good question. Although another possibility is that they didn't turn it all the way off. You have to hold the TC button for 5-10 seconds on the Coyote's to turn off all the nannies.

probably. I don't understand why we need a "sport" mode before TC is completely turned off. My ST has the same thing, press it once for sport and hold it down to turn it completely off. I've never tried it in just "sport" mode, completely useless I imagine.

I think its to allow track newbies to not kill themselves the first couple times they're out there. Most instructors will start you out with it on.
